Suisun Valley has exceptional soil and a perfect micro-climate which enables these vines to develop the choicest grapes. With Millions of years in the making of this unique micro-climate, U.C Davis has rated Suisun Valley Appellation as the best growing region for Petite Sirah in the State of California.
In 2001, the Vezér’s decided to establish their own wines and produced their first vintage of Zinfandel in 2003. Since then, they have expanded their planting of grape varietals on the Estate. Currently, Estate fruit varietals are: Verdelho, Sauvignon Blanc, Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah and Merlot, with expansion of some unique varietals soon.

“The Napa Back Road” or “Napa’s Little Sister Sue” is a wine country oasis know as Suisun Valley ( pronounced “Sue-Soon”) one of the oldest AVA’s in California, established in 1982. Suisun Valley is nestled between two coastal mountain ranges and only 12 miles from historic downtown Napa or 45 miles from San Francisco.
Suisun Valley, is a pristine landscape dotted with premium wineries, the old Pioneer Village of Mankas Corners, farm-fresh produce stands, and quaint eateries. Valley Vintners produce quality wines suited to everyone’s tastes and wallet, from fun Rosés and fruit forward Sauvignon Blancs to serious Reds, winning Double Gold Medals at International Competitions.
Suisun Valley received its American Viticultural Area designation just 37 years ago, only one year after Napa Valley. The Western Solano County Grape Growers Association successfully petitioned the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (BATF), and subsequently received formal designation of Suisun Valley as an identified American Viticultural Area. In 1983 the 15,000 acres of the Suisun Valley AVA were included in the formation of the North Coast AVA. The North Coast AVA includes Green Valley, Napa, Sonoma, and Mendocino Counties, (with areas of Lake and Marin Counties) into one overarching ultra premium growing region, renowned internationally for high quality fruit grown and skilled winemaking traditions.
Suisun Valley enjoys great community heritage which dates back to the mid 1800′s. In fact prior to Prohibition, Suisun Valley had bragging rights as home to the “Largest winery in North America”. Napa Valley Vintners have long valued the quality of fruit and have been the largest buyers of Suisun Valley fruit for their bottled poetry. Currently, the 3,000 acres of Suisun Valley wine grapes are being used by 18 bonded winemakers with 8 Tasting Rooms open daily and 10 others by appointment.
